3.5.11

April 28th 2011

So far this week started with a bang (minus my exam). I got to celebrate my birthday at a wind-up class kegger with some good folks. The next day included brunch with B and supper with M.  Both whom were awesome company.  I've missed them both dearly.
The best part of my day was being able to relax without stressing about school. Still, I'm not quite finished with it yet. Tuesday I spent an hour and a half organizing all my hard copies of notes in case I need to access them in the future I still need to organize my electronic data for my buddy next year.
Going through my notes has made me already excited for school next semester. Not necessarily for the work aspect of school, but for school supplies! I LOVE school supplies. When I was young, I looked forward to my yearly trip to Staples to get all the items on my list. Now that I'm older, I still feel the same way. I love buying my yellow legal pads, Sharpie pens and packs of plain index cards.
Next year though, I want to change things up a little though. Here's a few of my must haves.

I keep everything in files.  They take up less room than binders.  They're pretty much expandable. They keep things organized and can be color coded.  and my backpack feels much lighter filled with files than binders.  (I’m pretty sure the last point is mainly in my head, but it still counts). To conclude, files are the best.  This website has somany adorable items including the above pictured files.

When you use files, you need extra things to keep paper organized. Which leads me to these next two items.

I originally saw these at the Better Good.  I thought it was a fun idea and therefore I wanted it. Another good point is how cheap they are. They can be bought for as low as $5.99! How can you resist?

I want these. They cheer me up in pictures so I figure they will make me ecstatic in real life. And when I am in the midst of finals or midterms, I need asmany pick-me-ups as I can get The only downside is these babies are pretty expensive compared to regular paperclips (approximately $7.50 for 30). That won’t stop me though. Now I just need to pick which ones I want. I’m leaning towards the penguins.

On the above mentioned Office Supply Website, I found a few other cute items I wanted to point out/really don’t need but feel like they’re a must now.
A Think Eraser and these unbelievably clever Ninja Page Flags.

Adorable Right?

Rx 1: Done

It's officially the end of my school year. A recap on the year would be - met new people, learned some stuff, didn't study nearly enough and became really good friends with great people. The best thing that happened to me this year was just having the confirmation that I chose the right career path and becoming really excited for the rest of my life. The plans for the summer right now are not really filled with much. I NEED to find a job. But as for tonight, I'm going to celebrate with fellow classmates. I think we deserve it. So I'm going to end my post with that. But I'd also like to leave you with a song.... It always gets me pumped up.
Party Rock

Prom. Jersey Style.

As much as people don't want to admit it, Jersey Shore is one of the biggest guilty pleasures out there. I fully embrace the show and am not afraid to express how much I love it. So, I was ecstatic when saw this page. Snooki, Pauly, Ronnie and Sammi in their prom outfits!!
It made me think though, just how dated will my grad dress look in a few years? Sammi and Snooki are both fairly close to my own age and their pictures already look old. Is my dress already 'old' looking?
I think everyone believes their own dresses will be classics. I guess I should have realized back then that a shiny purple dress wouldn't be one....

Birthday?

My birthday is fast approaching. This year it's more exciting then most because it marks the end of finals. More specifically, it marks the end of organic chemistry! Oh how I despise that class. I cannot wait to be done.
Returning to my birthday.... As with every year, I have been asked by many people what I want. And by many people, I mean three.
After some deliberation, I've come up with a few ideas.
1. Freaks and Geeks Box Set

I don't know if many people have heard of this show, but it is fantastic. The cast consisted of up-and-coming stars of its time, who went on to do many great things. Case and point, James Franco. And it was produced by Judd Apatow who has since produced many of our generations classics, such as 40 year old virgin and Superbad. So yes, this show is a tv goldmine. I've already watched the season once, and I've never been so sad to finish a last episode. It's such a shame it was cancelled. That's why I want the set though, to always remember its greatness.
2. Rainboots. Specifically these Chooka Rain Boots...

Backstory on Rainboots. I've wanted a pair for over a year now. Two of my good friends (who both have awesome tastes in shoes) both have Hunters boots. This is what first peaked my interest. Then what REALLY made me want a pair happened on a dreary fall afternoon this past September. I was walking around campus in flats with my friend who was wearing her boots. I had to dodge puddles left, right and center to avoid getting soaked feet, whereas she had no such problem. She walked straight through puddles. And occasionally, went out of her way to splash through the biggest ones. I was so jealous! I wanted to be able to splash around and release my inner 6 year old. Problem was, Hunters boots are completely out of my price range. Being a student, I can't justify that amount of money when I already have plenty of shoes and boots. So how pumped was I when I saw these adorable boots on toquegirls.wordpress.com???? In a word, very. They're about half the price of Hunters, so not only would I be able to afford them, I wouldn't feel guilty asking for them for my birthday. I'm planning on letting my grandma know about these. She always likes getting me girly items, and what's more girly than a pair of polka-dot Rainboots?
P.S.  The Chooka website seems to be down at the moment but they have an assortment of boots here
